The Support Project to the Regional Plan for Fruit Flies Control in West Africa holds its fourth Steering Committee Meeting

The fourth meeting of the Steering Committee of the Support Project to the Regional Plan for Control Fruit Flies Control in West Africa began today July 24, 2018 in Lomé, Togo under the chairmanship of the Director of Agriculture and Rural Development representing the ECOWAS Commissioner for Agriculture, Environment and Water Resources.

This meeting aims to review the progress of the project activities over the past year, gather advice and guidance on the activities scheduled for August 2018-August 2019 at both regional and national level and anticipate on the closure and continuation of the project, specifically the consolidation and sustainability of the project achievements.

Participants to this meeting includes among others the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Water Resources of ECOWAS, the ECOWAS Regional Agency for Agriculture and Food, the European Union, DEVCO, the Delegations of the European Union in Nigeria and Togo, the French Development Agency, CORAF, representatives of the project coordination unit, representatives of the Consortium (SOGEROM-COLEACP-BERD) and representatives of the National Committees. This Steering Committee meeting will close on Wednesday, July 25, 2018.

As a reminder, the Support Project to the Regional Plan for Fruit Flies Control in West Africa is funded by the European Union, the French Development Agency and ECOWAS. It is implemented by the SOGEROM-COLEACP- BERD Consortium on behalf of ECOWAS.
