Recruitment of an individual consultant to facilitate the validation workshop for the training guide on aflatoxin control and to provide training for trainers on the guide

  1. The ECOWAS Commission has received funding from the International Development Association (World Bank) to finance the costs of the Food System Resilience Program in West Africa (FSRP) and intends to use part of the funding to pay for consulting services.
  2. The purpose of this notice is to recruit an individual consultant to facilitate the validation workshop for the training guide on aflatoxin control and to provide training for trainers on the guide.
  3. This Consultant must have the following qualifications:
  4. Hold a higher university degree (Master's or Doctorate) in food safety, food science, food technology, agriculture, or a related field;
  5. Have at least 10 years of experience in the field of food safety, combined at the national and/or international level;
  6. Have expertise in aflatoxin control;
  7. Have at least 5 years' experience in training and facilitating participatory workshops.
  8. Have good communication and facilitation skills in a technical or scientific environment
  9. Have knowledge of the regional context (Sahel and West Africa);
  10. Be fluent in one of the official languages of ECOWAS (particularly French or English) and have written and oral skills in the other language;
  11. Knowledge of food reserve systems or regional agricultural policies in West Africa is an asset.

  2. Interested consultants are invited to refer to Section III, paragraphs 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17 of the World Bank's "Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers," July 2016 ("Procurement Regulations"), which sets out the World Bank's policy on conflicts of interest.
  3. Following the evaluation of expressions of interest, a consultant will be selected using the "Individual Consultant (IC)" method as described in the World Bank's Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers, July 2016, revised in September 2023.
  4. Expressions of interest must contain the following:
  • letter of expression of interest;
  • a detailed Curriculum Vitae;
  • certified copies of diplomas and certificates;
  • certified copies of certificates of assignments or services performed or any other document that can justify the consultant's experience.
