Recruitment of an individual consultant to support the ECOWAS - SOUTH KOREA exchange visit

Submission deadline:
  1. The ECOWAS Commission has received funding from the International Development Association (World Bank) to finance the costs of the West Africa Food System Resilience Programme (FSRP) and intends to use part of the funding to pay for the services of an individual consultant.
  2. The purpose of this notice is to recruit an individual consultant to support the ECOWAS - SOUTH KOREA exchange visit.
  3. The Consultant must have the following qualifications and experience:
  4. have a degree in rural/development economics, policy development, business management or a related field;
  5. have at least 10 years' professional experience in the field of agricultural development.
  6. Experience in organising and facilitating agricultural visits, group discussions, etc.
  7. is familiar with the entire rice sector in West Africa;
  8. Experience of the rice value chain in West Africa ;
  9. Experience and track record in stakeholder engagement;
  10. proven experience in project management;
  11. good communication skills;
  12. Fluency in English and French is an additional advantage.
  13. Due to the cross-cultural nature of the assignment, it is essential that the candidate has experience of working in a multicultural environment and previous international experience.
  14. The estimated level of effort is 96 man-days from the mission start date.

  1. Interested consultants are invited to direct their attention to Section III, paragraphs, 3.14, 3.16 and 3.17 of the World Bank's "Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers", July 2016 ("Procurement Regulations"), which sets out the World Bank's policy on conflicts of interest.
  2. Following the evaluation of the expressions of interest, one consultant will be selected following the "Individual Consultant (IC)" method as described in the World Bank's Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers, July 2016.
  3. Expressions of interest must contain the following information:
  • letter of expression of interest ;
  • a detailed Curriculum Vitae;
  • Legalised copies of diplomas and certificates or any other documents proving experience.
